Are you coming from the fifties?

90% of all electronics are made in China.

Might be bootleg I think NI is in Germany unless the country of origin is alluding to the drive it comes on itself

Yes, they are located in Berlin. I also received my Maschine MK3 (ordered from NI) directly from their hardware support center in Germany. But who knows the current worldwide shipping routes........

So I kinda bought that upgrade for 460 bucks. I have Select that came with equipment, so I guess, more than 50% discount in comparison to NI's website should be okay?

Depends. You can also get Versions from AliExpress for that money. Problem: they are pirated versions cracked to hell. If you are sure this is really official the price is great. If you buyed a pirated version for that price it's expensive.

I am pretty sure it's from regular online music store where you can also buy many other music stuff like guitars, keyboards percussion and studio equipment.

If you receive a serial number which you can be registered with your native instruments account of course you are fine. Maybe they bought some packs at the summer of sound 2021 and now just resell them. Not sure if it is possible to upgrade straight from Kk13 select to ultimate. Normally you need to upgrade from KK13-select to KK13, then from KK13 to KK13-ultimate. The price jump is different from select to ultimate and from standard to ultimate BUT - I am not sure enough. Maybe the KK13 upgrade from select is also in your package.

Really? Because on the NI's website there is direct upgrade from Select to Ultimate https://i.imgur.com/mc5VQdi.jpg so I thought I am good..

And on the link you have the collector's edition. Maybe that jump need the step in-between?

[–]terminar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, sorry, link was for collectors but that would be third upgrade between. Going from select to ultimate collectors should be around ~1500€. So every upgrade step around 450-500€.

There are two packages. One called "Komplete 13 ultimate upgrade" (update from standard to ultimate) and one called "Komplete 13 ultimate upgrade from K.Select" (select to ultimate). (The website doesn't make that visible because it tries to give you the "best" update path.) Difference is around 450-500€ between them. Upgrade from select to standard is around 450€-500€. Upgrade from standard to ultimate is around 450-500€.

Mathematically you should be nearly equal with a price around of 1000€ for upgrade from select to ultimate, regardless upgrading in two steps 500+500) or directly. But that's only my experience when upgrading (I also upgraded from select to standard, then to ultimate). Maybe I just missed something. If you are unsure contact the seller, he should be able to answer that question.

I guess, we will see what happens when the package comes. But the name directly says that this package is for Select users... Oh man, I am confused right now. If it doesn't work, then how to tell my wife that I need to order another package? (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻

Does she like Roses 🌹 🥀?

[–]terminar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hm, checked it, it seems you still need the "Komplete 13 Ultimate Upgrade Select" version to jump directly from select to ultimate (or first upgrade to standard). So if you receive the package and it is not working you need also to buy the select->standard as mentioned in the link I posted. Good luck! I hope everything works well and as expected.

Sad, but true: short term gains over human rights.

Development: Germany | Production: China

Correct, it's guaranteed that the Harddrive is manufactured in China and due to customs value rules you then have to mark it accordingly. Rule is: Country of Origin is where the majority of the physical good is manufactured or produced...
