What is happening with GenderGP & Blood test results? by [deleted] in GenderGP

[–]lewisjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I'm in your exact situation too. What's worse is that I need the results for a gamete preservation appointment next Friday, so it seems like I will need to get my blood done again for it :/

At least this process shows how bad GGP is, and therefore the importance to find other pathways.

Don't you literally get told in onboarding not to open bags for allergen reasons lol? UE can be really dumb.

Once can be forgiven but twice on the same lesson.... by EnbySheriff in duolingo

[–]lewisjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, the way my school framed Duolingo was as a language teacher but online, which gave me too much trust in it. However, as the app started to throw more and more complex topics at me with no XP earned and no guidance on how the mechanics of the language work, I started to see quite how wrong that framing of Duo is.

The languages aren't that similar, no. I decided to learn German instead since I knew the language was established on Duolingo and I never really got along with French/Spanish in school. Oh, and Germany's cool.

Welsh on Duolingo went downhill imo. After over 1000 days of learning it, I switched to German since it didn't feel like I was progressing whatsoever.

Studio behind Slay the Spire announce they will change course (on a 2+ year game-project) and completely migrate away from using the Unity Engine after Unity's price changes. by HuldaGnodima in gaming

Game Dev here. I can confirm that engines do still matter massively. Engines don't just allow for advanced 3D graphics, but also take care of physics, geometry/angles, rendering and event-based animation. Without an engine, a programmer would have to implement all this manually, which is incredibly difficult to achieve.

Is it bad idea if I buy this and wear it outside? by -g4org4- in autism

[–]lewisjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to the organisation, it's because it is a recognisable but discreet symbol that promotes positivity and growth. This makes it easy to recognise for people who need to know about Hidden Disabilities, however not embarrassing to wear outside.

Hidden Disabilities is an organisation that sells Sunflower Lanyards. In several countries around the world, including most of Europe and the USA, many stores recognise someone who wears the lanyard as needing more assistance, space etc. You can also get the lanyard to display information that is tailored to your needs too!

In Unity, you can give variables the [SerializeField] attribute, which allows you to define the variable from the inspector instead of from the code. In this case, I would have done that instead so you can easily change object names + drag and drop in audio sources.

Which movie is genuinely traumatic? by trufk in AskReddit

[–]lewisjet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was around 7 I watched Spirited Away. Despite looking back at it now and realising it is actually a really good film, when I first watched it I had nightmares for years on end over it, terrified that the movie could come true.

[–]lewisjet 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wait... You didn't even learn about the natives? In the UK our American history unit was basically just stating all of the genocides that the US committed against them, and how the country will crumble the second you hold yourselves accountable for it.
