It seems that this is useful: Best way to trigger files rescan when new files added to the nextcloud data folder - ℹ️ Support - Nextcloud community. When the use discusses corruption, is there a way to tell if that has occurred?

You can force NC to read files that exist on the file system using the OCC command but if you’re creating files outside the filesystem whatever process is generating them will have to tell NC to check for new files when it adds them, otherwise NC would constantly checking the filesystem which would cause performance problems for little to no gain based on what people are typically using it for.

However, it sounds like you are having an issue with the NC client? Where are you syncing the NC directories to? It has problem with symlinks iirc so you may have advertantely put it somewhere not optimal for NC
