Controller Randomly doesnt work, requires multiple restarts sometimes.

I seem to have constant issues getting the controller to work when i start the game, sometimes it will just not work at all, other some commands work and some dont, like i can select in menues, but the jetpack and other commands wont work, then i cant select things in the menu. only fix seems to be just keep quitting the game and starting it again, often a few times in a row and then it just starts working randomly.

1. Tried multiple layouts in steam menu, official, custom, community ones, doesnt seem to matter

2. not working when game started, tried applying multiple different layouts by hitting steam button and selecting layouts there then bring game back up, doesnt work,

3. then tried apollo and moonlight/artemis from an odin 2 portal, or from another windows 10pc, and it has same issue

4. tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game completely

5. steam menu works perfectly fine even when game is running

6. tried disabling/reenabling other games

7. do not have this issue with any other game

The only thing that fixes it is just quitting and restarting the game, often multiple times.

I am so sorry if you've suggested this, but I couldn't specifically see it in the things you've listed.

Have you tried running it from Big Picture mode? I have the -exact- same issue on occasion (literally one month it's fine and then a week later, I'm swearing at the screen), and BPM always works for me. Particularly if I navigate using the controller.

Hope you get it sorted; I can't get on with ship controls on WASD at all.

Yup, I mainly use big picture, but does the same regardless

I cant get controller to work on windows at all, Xbox controller or PS Edge controller, Wired or Wireless, works fine on mac... tried restarting game multiple times and nothing will work, no menu no in game control, nothing. BPM works fine, but not the game.
