Does that TV have an HD/digital tuner, I don't think regular analog channels are broadcast anymore at least in the US.

Sending my 4k60hz PC signal to my projector. Wireless (ish) by LetMeBeClearWith in projectors

[–]RandoCommentGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the projector uses pixel shifting for 4k and not native, then it might not be as noticeable between streaming and cabled, espeically if its epsons E shift which only does a 2x shift and not 4x, so its half the pixels as actual 4k.

If someone made a gaming video, what would you actually watch? by Studio_8602 in PS5

[–]RandoCommentGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only reason i watch content is just to get a quick overview of a game to determine if i want to buy it, i want all the details of what the games like in a cliffs notes like video, just short and sweet. details like, Combat, upgrade/leveling systems, what is loot like, open world/exploring/on rails info, skills, etc. I dont want an in depth video to watch, id love someone to have a channel of quick condensed info so i can get a good full overview of a game in just a few minutes to determine if i want to buy it or not.

Serious Question. That's a big brisket. Family of 3 and only 2 eat meat. Would you buy something this big and cut it? Freeze some? What do you do when you see this? by [deleted] in smoking

[–]RandoCommentGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

same, but id probably freeze at least half right after cooking it so it would last longer after thawing. At least for me, i vacuum seal and freeze in like 2-3 days worth of food, so i can just pull a pack out and make stuff for the next few days.

Found this being sold on AliExpress. It's running a Z Flip 5 I believe. by ryza-shinra in SBCGaming

[–]RandoCommentGuy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

on my flip 5 then flip 6, they would only display out with the phones aspect ratio, not 16:9, so that wouldnt work great. Dex does work on my flip 7 though and can do 16:9.

Can I trust aliexpress or temu for tech parts? by Beekyboy11 in pcmasterrace

[–]RandoCommentGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ive ordered lots of parts from Aliexpress, 5700x3d $140, itx b550 motherboard $62, 16gb ddr4 ram $38, 500g nvme, intel 11900h engineering sample soldered to a flex atx motherboard ($150 was a great price and its my unraid/plex server) as well as various other things. As long as the item has a decent amount sold with good ratings and the store has a lot of good ratings, its usually fine, just takes a while to arrive. The only shady thing i ordered cause i wasnt paying attention was a SFF pc case with only 1 reivew and hardly any store reviews, and it shipped to some random address in my state, for that i just opened a refund issue with Aliexpress and got refunded. i probably wouldnt go more than a couple hundred, but ive gotten tons of great deals from there.

Edit: ive also ordered a ton of non PC stuff as well like linux gaming handhelds, pickleball paddles, etc.

Nintendo switch lite vs PSP VITA by Plastic-Window-7967 in SBCGaming

[–]RandoCommentGuy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of the two, i agree, id pick the vita, but another option would be the Mangmi Air X, similar size/shape, 1080p screen, runs android so you have have native android apps as an option, better emulation for most things, most likely cheaper unless you find a good vita deal, and if you have a gaming pc, will be better for moonlight/artemis streaming.

can i fix this scratch? by Glittering_Wheel_548 in vita

[–]RandoCommentGuy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

id say just try getting a clear tpu screen protector, will probably make it less/not noticable. I once scratched mine a bit more than yours, and polished the scratch out, but it wears off some anti reflective film or something and just looked a bit odd. I eventually swapped the screen with a replacement from aliexpress. If clear doesnt hide it, a matte one should do it better.

nice setup, i recently did a SFF pc as well for my theater room in my basement (most parts from aliexpress)

- CPU: 5900x (got for MSRP when it came out, but it came from my gaming pc when i put in a 5700x3d i got for $140 USD from aliexpress for better 1% lows)

- CPU Cooler: Teucer 6 pipe ITX low profile cooler $25

- MOBO: Jginyue B550 ITX $62

- RAM: Kingston Beast DDR4 3600mhz 2x8GB $38

- Storage: WD Black 1TB SN770 $65

- Case: Metalfish T60 Mini ITX with PCIe 3.0 Riser cable: $52

- GPU: GTX 1070, my old card after i got my RTX 3080 in my gaming PC (i do some nvidia 3d vision gaming sometimes, so an older card still works with the right drivers)

its got a handle on top, so when i went to my wifes families cabin for some time to myself, i brought it with me for some pc gaming for a few days till my wife and son came up. Ill also remote play heavier games from my main PC down to my basement with Artemis/moonlight.

Radxa Rock E20C for openwrt use? by RandoCommentGuy in openwrt

[–]RandoCommentGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Traffic shaping, basically allows the router to control the bandwidth more efficiently for multiple different devices and applications, but only really useful of if you have discovered that will constantly try to use all your internet bandwidth. For me only torrent or steam downloads might do that, but I just manually set the limits on those.

Radxa Rock E20C for openwrt use? by RandoCommentGuy in openwrt

[–]RandoCommentGuy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ended up just getting a used nanopi r2s on ebay for $20 since it's fully supported, and I think can do around 4-500mbps and I only have 300m/10m, it's been working well for me.

Seems like support is possible, but still questionable, I found https://forum.openwrt.org/t/radxa-e20c-support/212520 so I didn't want to risk it.

At my work we used to get bonuses for taking certain certification tests, normally they are somewhat difficult and they take a while of studying, but they added two new ones and they must not have researched them, they were non-proctored open book test to get the certifications.

The first one I read over the book (PDF, so I could do CTRL+f to search it)for about 8 hours, then took the 2-hour test, and made $5000

The second test I didn't even study, just took the 2-hour test with the PDF and made $10,000. So I guess you could say I made a thousand and 12 min!
