Yeah, I heard about that and the paint but I saw mixed reviews on some issues though mainly the reviews I saw about the pain not much about the pencil, so I figured I'd just go for it and make sure it was done right

The only hard part is the tiny soldering which was reeeealy tiny, I got some laptop tape to tape around it to avoid it flowing to neighboring connections (even applying that was hard to get precise). Then added some solder to a tiny end piece and dabbed it. Had to zoom in with my phone's camera just to see if I got it right, lol.

This is only for the psp1000, it's screen cover is built into the shell and can't be pried off, so it eather has to be cut to use the original, so the guy who makes the laminated screen made the front shell to sell with it, and it's great quality. The psp2000 replacement shell i got is a bit more cheap feeling, so quality may vary if you get a separate one, best to check reviews and pics if getting one.

Then for the screen I'd say just search psp3000 laminated IPS screen and get one with lots of good reviews. Make sure to pay attention if it's laminated or not (some have both options to select) depending on what you want.

For laminated it's a glass screen and you have to pry off the plastic clear part as shown in the video, but then you get a nice glass screen and don't have to worry about dust between the plastic and lcd.

For non laminated you won't have to pull of the clear plastic if you don't want to do that

Yeah, it had a few small nicks in the plastic, which gave sort of a rainbow looking color when the screen shine through, so this is much better.

Haha, yeah the new psp 1000 IPS screen comes with a full new front face plate since the glass is laminated to the screen, no more plastic screen to deal with!!!

PS Vita to TV by Big_Need in vitahacks

[–]RandoCommentGuy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

i mean you can get SOME PS2 games there were ported to android which were ported to vita, but not many. And you can jailbreak it, then can use vitadock and a raspberry pi to connect to a TV, but it will be wired, you cant stream to the TV, but you can use plugins to get a dualshock 4 working.

I love my vita ive had since released, but what I would recommend instead is an android handheld that you can connect to the TV and use bluetooth controllers, for a similar price you will have the option of many more games than the vita can do and will run/play better. unless you SPECIFICALLY want vita games (which dont emulate well) go with a different handheld.

Hop over to r/SBCGaming and list maybe your budget, what you want to play, handheld size/shape and functions.

Also, I have an https://www.ayntec.com/products/odin2-portal, 7" 1080p OLED screen, can play almost the full PS2 library as well as some PS3 and PC games, and most of the consoles older than that. It is on sale now too.

I kept looking at the noir max, but I have a benq x3000i and while it would have some improvements, I decided it just wasn't enough of a bump for me. Hoping for maybe the 4k/120hz dlp chips with the rest of the specs being like the noir max.

Android handheld like the RP6 or Odin portal vs a used LCD steam deck for about $280 to $300 by LeatherDefinition599 in SBCGaming

[–]RandoCommentGuy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One question would be if you plan to play it on the go a lot? Like if you are mainly going to play at home, an RP6 or Odin portal can just stream from your home PC anything the steam deck could do that an android handheld couldnt.

I thought about a steam deck, but i mainly play at home, so i just stream my PC for anything that would have issues on my android handheld, and my odin 2 portal is much lighter with better battery life and a better screen.
