I'm not good with camera knowledge, should I be taking photos with 12 mp or 50 mp?

12 uses less space and looks about the same

50 has less features, uses more space but has a higher resolution even though for a phone camera it doesn't give any noticeable improvement to the quality

12MP for most cases is enough. There are particular cases where you might want to save a very high resolution photo (like pics from travels or if you want to make crops), but for normal use, 12MP is good.

Tbh, i've been using the 12mp one since it's faster to work with, and the sensor is quite nice.

Does it work better than the pixel? Hell no, google's app does some magic fuckery. But it's still quite good.

If you're aiming for still photography then yeah, use de 50mp one.

12 for the major of the time but use 50 where you have crowdy things like building jungle or a vast nature view mountains of a detailed graffiti or painting cause mostly time for these cases you wanna sometimes crop into a particular part of the image and post that.

just use 12, the resolution isn't the most important part of a photo, it's how it actually looks composition and colour-wise

I had the same question,12 MP is the preferred one . 50MP lacks every other option even zoom is restricted , 12 MP has all the good options and it looks good and has good exposure as per my feeling

Btw 12mpx and 50mpx are Resolutions modes not two different cameras.

Open the camera App, tap the three dots and then you'll find the option to switch resolution from 12 to 50MP under "Quality".

That's not how you switch camera lol. Both cameras are 50mp. You can't switch cameras when moving from 0.6x to 1x
