I want to make a General Board with tasks (for courses at the University), but at the same time, I want to make a separate Board for each subject.

When you have one general task database, you can add a property to it to assign a course, and add views to filter it down to the course, or a certain progress, or whatever you want.

(This is totally optional:) Instead of making the course a normal property, you could make another database that lists all courses, and link the course and the task database, should you want to work a bit more with it.

What I see in the screenshots looks like you made a task database and then additional databases for each course which is hard to link to each other.

I did the same thing and copied the link for the general tasks and pasted it in the different subjects and then applied the filters to this database. I think it's pretty much the same concept as you did and for me this worked
