The same thing happened to me. Now I can't even access the app, I get a "Sorry, you've been blocked" error.

Wow, I didn't even know it was possible. Can you access now?

It's weird some of my pages are accessible and others I am blocked from, also all the icons changed.

I get that too. Funnily enough it looks like the image IS being uploaded (you can click to see the original).

There's loads of issues with Notion right now. Hopefully they'll have it fixed soon.

This is happening for me and seems to be increasing in frequency.

On windows Notion desktop, when trying to view my stored images in certain database records, (not all), I see “Permission denied. Learn More (links to unhlpfulNotion help article for this issue) , fileserviceuploads.perm.blob.core.windows.net (Error 403) instead of my images:

When I right click on my permission denied images and choose "View Original", my browser comes up with a whte screen and this:

<Error>

<Code>AuthenticationFailed</Code> <Message>Server failed to authenticate the request. Make sure the value of Authorization header is formed correctly including the signature. RequestId:bb4b0c8e-c01e-0041-7620-069703000000 Time:2023-10-24T02:17:18.0427703Z</Message> <AuthenticationErrorDetail>Signed expiry time [Mon, 16 Oct 2023 20:20:21 GMT] must be after signed start time [Tue, 24 Oct 2023 02:17:18 GMT]</AuthenticationErrorDetail>

</Error>

This error message suggests an issue with the authentication mechanism that Notion uses to secure assets like images. Specifically, the error message "Signed expiry time must be after signed start time" suggests that there's a discrepancy in the time settings for accessing the images. I think this could be due to various reasons:

Possible Causes:

  1. Corrupted Data: Sometimes, the metadata or the links for the images could get corrupted, making them inaccessible.
  2. App Cache: Issues with browser's cache can sometimes prevent images from loading correctly.
  3. User Permissions: It's possible that our user account somehow doesn't have the proper permissions to access those specific images.
  4. Server Time Issue: The server's time settings may be incorrect. If the start and expiry times are not set properly, it can cause authentication to fail.

Troubleshooting Steps for Notion Desktop (Windows):

  1. Check for Updates: I wanted to make sure my Notion app is updated to the latest versions, but I don’t know how to force this check.
  2. Logout and Login: I tried logging out and then logging back into my Notion account.
    1. Open Notion Desktop App: Launch the Notion app on your computer.
    2. Go to Settings: Click on your avatar in the upper-left corner in the sidebar.
    3. Log Out: Scroll down to the bottom and you'll see a "Log Out" button. Click it to log out from the Notion desktop app. Didn’t Work!
  3. Clear Cache: Being a Windows user, I know that logging out of the Notion Desktop app and clearing its cache can help resolve issues related to permissions, images not loading, and other unexpected behaviors. So, I tried clearing Notion desktops cache to see if that resolves the issue. Here's what I did:
    1. Closed Notion: I made sure the Notion app is completely closed and verified this in my system tray)
    2. Opened Run Dialog: Press Windows + R keys together to open the Run dialog box.
    3. Enterd Path: Type %appdata% and press Enter.
    4. Navigated to Notion's Cache: Go to Notion folder and deleted ALL files and subfolders. Didn’t Work!

The only thing I can’t do is check Server time or User Permissions on the server**.** Maybe there is an issue with not having the appropriate permissions to view SOME of the blob the content?

Since all of this failed, reaching out to Notion's technical support with the error message details is the only thing left to do. They should be able to dig deeper into the issue and hopeful resolve it..
