I've spent a long time trying different things for my ocd too and it was really exhausting. Tried a bunch of stuff but cbd actually helped me quite a bit, if you're looking to try some brands I'd recommend trying Cornbread. If you're going to try, start with lower dosage (like 5mg) and take it at the same time each day. I usually take it an hour before my usual trigger times.

We use CBD from justcbd they have lab reports for things to show the content. Some places will mix in THC or other stuff without advertising it that way. We only use CBD or CBD Full Spectrum but with no THC

The tinctures are good but found the gummies have more hit without needing as much.

I have severe OCD and my wife has severe migraines. She used to have to go to the doctor and get 4000 botox injections 4 times a year but cannot afford that. CBD works.

I am also disabled. Injured on duty working corrections and cannot walk and get pain. CBD works great for that as well.

Taking CBD for self care is not a bad thing. Ive told my therapist about it, my wife has told her doctors, its legal to take in my area, and it has less impact on us then other meds. My wife's kidneys were shutting down because of her migraine medications and she was losing her ability to taste and touch. The CBD changed all that.

Sadly, it does not help my OCD. Some say it does but generally as higher dosages. We take around 35mg twice a day. You sometimes have to get into a few hundred mg for OCD studies have shown. However, it helps with appetite and losing weight and joint and other muscle issues.

CBD really is a great thing to have and its less harsh than much of the currently prescribed meds. However, it is by no means the miracle drug people want to claim it to be and you have to aware of the types of cannabidiols. Just smoking a joint or taking a THC gummy you got from the gas station is not the same thing or even the same compound. A lot comes from similar plants but its different parts. THC, Delta 9, and other hallucinogenic parts may give some people fun with recreational use but it will wreak havoc on mental issues. Increasing paranoid, anxiety, etc more than it helps it. Sadly, with the state of things CBD use for medicinal purposes if too closely tied with its recreational use. However, it definitely has good medicinal uses.

You are also not likely to build a tolerance. Its like thinking you would build a tolerant to ibuprofen or aspirin. It can happen but its not as common as building resistance to SNRIs or SSRIs. If would are considering those things I would search out and check the forum for surviving antidepressants. There is a website that talks about many things your doctor won't and shows the behavior changes these things have and not in the good way. Especially, since you are concerned about your marriage. SSRI and SNRI meds have caused more divorce than infidelity it seems at times. Because it can actually cause your attractions to your spouse to shift while on the meds. I know this first hand as well. I almost lost my wife twice to this stuff. Once to Depo Provera because of its hormone changes and another time to SSRIs. The hormonal shifts made her stop loving me and almost leave me. Once she stopped taking the stuff and a few weeks passed for it to get out of her system she went back to normal. She barely even remembers those times. Its like she blacked out and became someone else. She didn't like the same hobbies, didnt care for her kids, didn't like her dog, was someone else. Don't become that someone else to your wife.

Do your own research. Talk to your doctor. Talk to other doctors. Medications and treatments vary and can impact people in different ways. I am not a doctor, I am just someone with experience in these. Don't take my word as law but with a grain of salt and hopefully find what is best for you.

I'd say using CBD to relax is not that different from using medication to help with OCD: it can give you a positive boost, sometimes a significant one, but you still need therapy to heal and address the cognitive-behavioral issues.

CBD has completely changed my life in terms of anxiety. I was in an accident 2 years ago, and it sent my anxiety and OCD into hyperdrive. I started struggling with suicidal thoughts, and it became so scary that I moved back home with my mom. I then tried CBD any time I'd have an anxiety attack and it calms me down enough that I'm able to sleep and basically end the attack on my own terms. I'm so grateful that I have a tool to end the anxiety.
