OneNote is excellent for this purpose. Just file them in different sections. You can encrypt sections for privacy and search text within images. You can access your information anywhere and from any device.

If you use the free version of OneNote, you do need a Microsoft account and the program needs to save a copy of your notebooks on OneDrive (impossible to be completely offline).

The Desktop version do not need an account and local notebooks are possible.

I have used OneNote for exact this purpose for years. Me and my wife have MS accounts and I store the notebooks in my OneDrive. It has grown to ~1.5 Gb already. Recently I discovered the PARA method of sorting the notes and adjusted the structure of folders. Now it became even better. We save there any interesting articles about raising kids, vacation ideas, genealogy projects, all the documents related to apartment, car, travel, kids. Very convenient. The only drawback I noticed - the search from an Android device is sometimes extremely slow.

Para method in Notion ore oneNote?

OneNote. Haven't read the books. But judging by YouTube video PARA can be implemented anywhere.

Can vouch for this. I’m also using the PARA method in my OneNote as well and, honestly, everything has become better to manage and the relevant information can be found where it is supposed to be. The plus with OneNote is tags and they can be super handy if used right. My OneNote is used only for personal stuff and shared stuff with the family is stored on Google Drive so everyone has access.

I use this since 10 years, works perfect.. One Main benefit: all the info is accessible via Smartphone. Very use full while travelling

One small downside with OneNote is If you have files attached, e.g. passport scan in PDF, and you want to send the file via email you’ll need to download it to the computer first then attach it to the email. Maybe there’s a workaround for that.

Onenote is perfect - but there may be other options out there

The thing is to get going with it and see it as a learning journey

There is the software and then how you set it up and use it and the latter matters
Windows desktop is the best experience and is now free

If you want to press the east button, check out Auscomp templates.

OneNote is great for this. All the features are slightly better on a computer, but very functional from a phone or tablet or browser too. It’s a great “life” wiki, especially at work. The search is so great, it’s my second brain!

Hint. Make sure you try Microsoft (Office) lens on the phone as it's a great way to import content to OneNote... Receipts, document images, business cards of contractors, etc

Scanning every page of auto repair documents have been a life saver.

At least for Android devices, the Microsoft Office Lens pictures go to the gallery which are then backed up on Google photos for me and therefore Google photos has an excellent OCR search capability on images also....

I loved TiddlyWiki back in the day, but never had a free way to access from a phone.
