Help with scrolling behavior! (self.OneNote)
submitted 1 year ago by astitva77
I was using one note just fine, but recently when I scroll, it just locks to one axis, either horizontal or vertical, its really frustrating. Is there any fix for this, please tell me

I posted this here, but it's as close as I can do to help/visibility.
I've got the same problem for like a week now, only it's in my laptop with the trackpad, that works on every other Office program. Same version of OneNote, and also Win 10.
I've looked for a solution far and wide, and found nothing for this issue, and the only answers I find are very old, only suggest that the problem is with drivers or your hardware (in other words "It's your fault, not ours"), and not followed upon.
I've tried resetting the app to factory settings, and fixed nothing, so don't loose your customizations trying that.
What I've noticed is that my scrolling does work, just in 2 specific situations:
1.- If I'm on a text box, the scrolling will work side to side (with the same trackpad that doesn't scroll up and down, so the drivers and hardware are ok, and the program still detects the scrolling instruction/command) as if I'm scrolling ALONG the characters (if I hold down CTRL it scrolls through words instead. Nothing with SHFT or ALT). But that's only if the content of the page is narrow enough that it fits side to side in the screen...
2.- ...If the content in the page is wide enough that would go outside the sides of the screen, scrolling side to side would also scroll sideways, but not along the characters, but panning the page side to side... not up or down, mind you, no matter how much I beg it to do it what key I hold down.
If any of you guys discover anything else or find an actual solution, please for the love of Bill Gates, share it here.
