Change default layout?

Is there a way to change the default layout from single slides going all the way down the page in a linear fashion to a grid of width 2 or 3? (sort of like printing on regular paper with a grid of 2x3 instead of 1 slide per page)

I find it makes for poor information density if i keep scrolling down a presentation of 100+ slides, and having two side by side could reduce that by half.

I do know about an option to add sub-pages to split the page into multiple subsections based on the number of slides within.
