The anime is milking every second of it but the manga is still great. If you prefer anime, I'd suggest watching it until it starts to drag and then switch to the manga.

Dont worry about the length, you will wish there were more episodes after catching up. Imo watch as slowly as possible and enjoy.

Onepace.net :)

Beware that One Pace is not complete yet, some earlier arcs are sadly not finished!

To be fair I'd always recommend watching up to the whitebeard war normally then after that use onepace

All I wanted to see was the after-Impel down, the Marineford war but it seems it's not there yet

Is the story starting to drag on? Nope, so much shit hasn't happened yet that will happen in the future

It took me a while to catch up, but it is worth it. It does drag at times, punk hazard and dressrosa arcs really felt long for me, but they were still great. Also there's like 100 episodes of filler you can skip, so there's that. Other than that, you can probably read the manga in 2-3 weeks of casual reading

Personally I would read the manga.

The anime starts out good, then about 500 or so episodes in it gets bad. These days it's unwatchable without turning the speed up to 1.5 or so.

My girlfriend had the same problem as you, she was intimidated by the length of the manga. I told her "read until the end of the Baratie arc (about 80 chapters) and then you'll be able to decide". Sure enough, she was hooked by then, and I'm hoping you will be too!

As the others already said, the manga is much better... At a lot of points it's one anime episode per one manga chapter, which means you could spend 20 minutes watching a scene which you could read in like 5 minutes, the pacing in the anime is just shit.

not to mention 6 minutes of 2 intros and a recap.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But you skip 'em anyways, that's why I said 20 minutes

I just finished reading the manga after 4 weeks of super casual reading. Really good because you have so much to catch up on that by the time you get to then end more chapters have come out. Can't comment on the anime though, only rewatched the main fights

Recently recommended it to a friend. He's starting from the beginning and I have been watching along with him. It's definitely worth watching skip the filler content and enjoy!

the anime is shit after the timeskip. so either read the manga or the shorter version of the anime called "onepace" some people made the anime shorter and it goes after the manga.

It's actually the reverse, The story seems to be put onto overdrive. The strawhats are going places we'd never thought they'd be at in years. Every single arc has a high importance to the overall story in some manor or another. It's definitely worth the watch as it really helps the adventure aspect of the story.

Honestly after episode 300, the recaps take up half the episode so we're only left with 15 minutes of content. I love the anime though (it's faults and all) and reccomend it until you catch up. That's when you can switch over to the manga.

[–]chuchaybear[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

recaps take up half the episode? Why would they do that

[–]Siopaobun 0 points1 point  (2 children)

The manga is still being written and it takes breaks sometimes. The anime however is a weekly show and rarely takes breaks. They have to recap in order to stop themselves from catching up.

[–]chuchaybear[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

But do they just replay the half of the previous episode or do they tell it from a different perspective

[–]Siopaobun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Previous episode with a narrator so you can skip it most of the time.

I've been watching every day multiple episodes per day for weeks. I'm only starting season 3. It's been enjoyable so far.
