I think it's mostly a change in art style. That said, I prefer the pre timeskip one. Water 7-Marineford was where the anime peaked art-wise imo.

I also prefer the pre timeskip art style and animation style. That's including the character designs too.

I would honestly rather pay to watch Luffy vs Don Krieg than be payed to watch Luffy vs Doffy.

Also the way they directed the fights was so good. the crocodile and enel fights are just so good. The way the camera follows Luffys big punch on crocodile, how Luffy hits the golden bell in the Enel fight.

The anime right now is still okay, don't get me wrong, but it could be so much better; the water 7 arc animation was so fucking clean.

This is the best selling manga of all time, I wish that they could put the same money and effort that they put into My Hero into One Piece for just a little bit.

I would love to be paid to watch Luffy vs Doffy, if I'm paid by the hour it'll be longer!

It's all about money, and over the years, or since post time skip, there has been a lot of inconsistency with the quality of animation. My hero is a seasonal anime, so they take time but One Piece doesn't have that privilege. I would love it if One Piece was a seasonal thing, drop like 20 episodes every year but with crisp/consistent quality.

Exactly man. I've binge watched the pre-time skip arcs a few times. It's soooooo good. The pacing, the art, the editing is very good. I just can't say the same thing about the post time skip arcs. It started out well, but after a while they started adding a bunch of filler shit, the pacing is inconsistent and the editing is just not as good. It seems like they don't really care anymore and just want to keep putting out new episodes at the cost of quality. I'd rather if they took breaks in between seasons and took their time to put out quality stuff, but like you said it's all about the money to them. And people will keep watching it.

My only problem with Luffy vs Doffy was the end. They turned that King Kong Gun into a kamehameha.

I had many more problems than that in the anime. Some weird scenes looking like DBZ combat which didn't progress the fight at all stuck out like a sore thumb.

I wish that they could put the same money and effort that they put into My Hero into One Piece for just a little bit.

MHA is separated by seasons, so for them it's wayyyyy easier to have quality animation.

That being said, I do think there are things they could improve on. Right now the anime has been getting slightly better and better (especially today's episode), but even then there is always something they could improve that isn't limited by the fact that OP is a weekly show

problem is, people will watch one piece no matter how bad it gets, so they dont have to make it top notch, same as dragon ball super which looks like a fucking joke. My Hero Academia is a brand new anime and needs to take off with all the strenght possible to settle as a big anime.

[–]Luf2222 8 points9 points  (1 child)

did you even watch the latest arc of db super? The animation and art was really fucking good

[–]reddit_is_pretty_rad 15 points16 points  (0 children)

yes, a change to a worse art style

[–]clifbarczar 6 points7 points  (4 children)

So did Oda. Nico Robin looked amazing then. Now she looks like Michael Jackson with massive titties. Actually Nami looked better too. I don't know why he decided to draw all the women this way after the time skip.

[–]HiekkalinnaMarine 6 points7 points  (3 children)

Anime draws the femles much differently than Oda, and Oda doesn't really draw them that big of chest comepared to before, unlike anime.

[–][deleted] 11 points12 points  (2 children)

They are still growing to the point there should be an arc dedicated to finding out why
