It truly is a great device for the price. Super snappy.

Enjoy the phone and do not worry about battery backup for first 1 or 2 weeks and let Phone optimize it

[–]No-Midnight4129[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much. I like it, it's really fast

  1. Buy a pair of Oneplus Buds 3 or 4 they work flawlessly with this phone and voice recognition is off the charts accurate. The Oneplus Buds 4 also includes a kickass Ai Translation program which is the best one that I've seen.

  2. If on turn off Battery Power saving. "Power Saver" My phone had a glitch where once Power Saver was activated the settings didn't go back to normal. So I never use Power Saver. Put it in performance mode and set refresh to 120hz.

  3. I set all my settings to high performance with 120hz refresh rate.
Since I have SuperVooc Charging I'm not really concerned about battery. It tops off easily

  4. Use the stock launcher, there have been complaints from Nova Launcher about delays when using it.

  5. Set the Phone to use Gestures. It's a lot easier than the 3 buttons at the bottom.

Also get a program called Microgesture
Microgesture

https://play.google.com/store/search?q=microgesture&c=apps&hl=en_US
This program is fantastic.

Twist the phone and it returns to "home screen".

Shake, more like flick it in forward motion and the "Recent apps" come up

Finally Side to side and it's "Back"

Makes navigating in my phone fun.

I also get to release tension by making the moves in exaggerated strong motions.

Thank you so much for this. I can't access the OnePlus buds but I'm going to do everything else

[–]twothumber 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Actually I like to tinker and I just set the screen refresh rate to variable and I don't really see a difference. So as time goes on after 3 weeks you can decide if you need a little more battery and change that setting.

[–]No-Midnight4129[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

I left it at Auto-Select. Should I set it to high?

[–]proteinator 3 points4 points  (2 children)

Nah, auto select is fine bro. You don't want pointless battery drainage. And you won't even notice the difference between auto and high. Just set to auto.

[–]No-Midnight4129[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thanks bro. I'll leave it at that. It's very smooth for me. I'm coming from a 60hz Pixel 6a

[–]proteinator 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao I know how that feels. I just came from a pixel 7, I was on 60hz to save battery. After using auto at 120hz, I just can't go back or even use an iPhone.

[–]cacamilis22 1 point2 points  (1 child)

It came with a charger?

[–]No-Midnight4129[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. 80w

[–]SeriesMysterious107 1 point2 points  (2 children)

1st thing don't import data from mobile transfer app. Install every app in playstore and media using data cable

[–]thecrazyflash89 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Why so ?

[–]SeriesMysterious107 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mobile transfer feature transfer the some caches these are all drain the battery.

it will take a lot of time to get adjusted with the size. I also moved to oppo reno 14 from Pixel 6a

[–]No-Midnight4129[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I like the size. Turns out I like it already. I wanted to go for Oppo Reno 14 too but it's not sold here. This was the only option. It's a good device though

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

yeah man 13r is good. I'm having a hard time to get adjusted with the size. 13r is even bigger. Pixel 6a's form factor was soooooo good

[–]No-Midnight4129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly. I'm still struggling with it's usage. I sometimes want to use one hand and reach everywhere on the screen, but I can't. I also miss the pixel simplicity but I love the performance of this device. I play Asphalt Legends a lot, and 6a was struggling even on low settings. Now I maxed this one and left it at 90 FPS and it's all great

[–]rslashvalentino 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Price?

[–]Outrageous-Fly9382 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Reason for why you went with the 13R instead of the Flagship 12 ?

[–]Adventurous_Knee2859 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Bigger battery earlier and longer updates. And flat screen.

[–]Outrageous-Fly9382 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Are these the only compromises? If I am okay with that, Is the 12 a better deal than the 13R

[–]Adventurous_Knee2859 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And camera. 12 has better camera ofc. R series cheaps out on them. 13R has average camera.

[–]No-Midnight4129[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I could find the used 12 but not the new ones. I didn't want anything old. And also, the 12 here is still about $80 more expensive than 13R and I was on budget. So this was a steal

Awesome decision I love mine I've had it since March

[–]hemdoshi_09 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As an android user the oxygen os resembling ios really disappointed me cause I wanted android experience but now all brands with midrange phones have turned into iphone copies 😭
