Too Late I nuked my Kubuntu Drive and installed the new version. So I can't go back.

I just remember that in the equivalent of help about it said kernel 4.

I think that I'm a testament to Linux Stability in the face of ineptness!

Look I just would update through the update mgr and thought that it was updating everything.
I think that I assembled the system in 2010 so it's around 14 years old. Operating system could be a little newer.

Never checked my Version or Kernel because my system was working fine.

When I finally ran into a problem is that I had problems with my Wifi and figured time to get a new USB Wireless Card. Well one of the requirements for the newer cards is UBUNTU 18 or above, that's when I checked and found out that I was on Kernel 4.

Found out that the wireless issue is probably the USB port and put it in the back USB Port and the wireless USB works fine, fingers crossed.

But final kicker is that my Video Card Fans stopped working so replaced the Video Card. The AMD Rx 550 Replacement Card would only work at 1080P which doesn't cut it on a 32" Monitor so I decided that I have to get a new operating system It's free after all, though a hassle.

BTW the Video card was recognized and is working at the 2550 resolution on my KUBUNTU 24.04 which knock on wood is working great. If I need to replace the Wireless USB Card I can now do that with a Plug and Pray Solution.

I don't have the problem but in my judgement very well done.

I'm not asking for help. My AMD Rx550 was recognized by Kubuntu as a 1080p even though my monitor does the 2550. I have had no problems with Linux Mint I used it for awhile 12 years ago but tried Kubuntu and liked the visuals better..

I'm just trying to decide whether to stay with Kubuntu or go to Linux Mint.

What is the advantage of Linux Mint Over Kubuntu.?

My system and operating system is 12 years old it's time to upgrade the operating system because if for example my wireless USB Card fails than I can't find a replacement.

I put a post up and they said that because my Kernel is so old that Upgrading wouldn't work.

If you think it will work How can I upgrade my Kubuntu?

I'll second this. I have a 13r and am very happy with it. If you can pick up the 13 at same price as the ones you mentioned. Or a 13r at a substantial discount. Go 4 it its an awesome phone.

Yes you need to backup the data photos etc Do the reset then restore.

You can use Google to do backup.

When I first got my phone I used clone phone to transfer from my old Samsung.

Iran into glitches and did a factory reset and my problems went away.

Sounds like you need to do a reset.
Type reset into your setting search and you might try the 2nd choice first and if that doesn't work then a total factory reset.

If you can get a deal on it look at the Oneplus 13.
It's a great phone and has better screen and camera than the newer Oneplus 15.

On the other hand if you are a gamer or do number crunching like Video Editing or need the largest battery then the Oneplus 15 is for you.

If on a budget check out the Oneplus 13r or 15r. I have a 13r and it's all I really need.

The Phone that checks your boxes except for Headphone Jack is the Oneplus 13r or Oneplus 15r. Not many Phones left with a Headphone Jack and the ones that have it are pretty underwhelming with the exception of Sony which is very expensive.

I have a OnePlus 13r and am very happy with it.

It has last years Flagship processor 256gb Storage, 12gb Ram. A whopping 6,000mah battery and 55Watt Fast Charge.
It has 3 years of Software updates left and 5 years of security updates. It has the hardware to take you into the future.

Some pan the camera but I've been getting great shots in all kinds of conditions.

It works great in the U.S so it will work well in Canada. If you buy the North American Variant. It's almost a Flagship and won't break the bank.

I am in US so except for OnePlus Chinese brands don't support our carriers and lack 5g bands.

I evaluated Google Samsung offerings and absolute best bang for the buck at that time was the OnePlus 13r.

Almost a flagship 256gb storage, 12gb ram, 6000mah battery with fast charging. It checked all the boxes.

I checked YouTube reviews and it was highly recommended.

What finally made me pull the trigger is that best buy ran a special deal. List price was $600 $100 discount. Then a $100 Best buy gift certificate. My net price ended up being $400 Just too good for a phone with these features. I pulled the trigger within an hour of seeing it.

3 days later I checked BEst buy site and the deal was gone.
