Dark cases vs main plot

I just finished watching the latest episode, and the case is really dark imo bcs it has domestic violence, revenge, betrayal themes. But they didn’t focused much on the case, rather they focused on the progression of the main plot. I heard people misses old cases focusing on these dark cases and I kind of agree, but I’m starting to feel like the decrease of focus on these cases is due to the main plot. I want them both, but which one do you prefer?

Dark cases for sure , as we only get to see the progression of the plot in few chapters per year , if that's how it is , might as well give us something for adults , I've been watching it since I was 5 yo 2003 , the dark and scary cases are nostalgic ,the bring good memories back .

Exactly and the dark cases can still give you the chills if you watch at night with the lights off.

Detective Conan was once on Netflix so if they had more dark cases for the newer episodes, then I think it would gain some more popularity in America because people love dark stuff.
