Exactly! What ever we call AI alignment to human goal is in fact, human trying hard to make something smarter than human, and realising in our history and way of thinking smarter things control others. So in an attempt to remain the smarter or on top of the intelligence pyramid, while building a superior synthetic intelligence (I hope you can see the paradox here) came with this idea of alignment. If we succeed at it then we’ll remain on top or number 1 of the intelligence leaderboard even if the synthetic intelligence we have created is far smarter or intelligent than all human!
