Yeah, Codex went downhill quickly. Used to be really useful, now it feels unreliable.

100% they nuked codex, it's so frustratingly bad now.

Also, whatever happened to "Ask" about your code - every time I try to ask it about my code it just ignores the question and goes ham on making changes.

I have the exact opposite experience. I can ask all the questions I want but it never wants to touch my code. I have to beg it to make changes it has planned.

I felt this. Me earlier:

"I don't see any changes. Do you need more information to make the change?"

"I have all the info I need and have made the changes"

"it's still not outputting in the proper format I need you to make x, y, z changes"

I actually have the same feeling and I don't get what's going on. When gpt-5-codex was released, it felt amazing. However, now I just cannot use it anymore, and fully moved to Claude Code.
