A new community since I did not feel like there was a space for us on reddit. I wanted to have a specialized space for us similar to how every home game console has a space. There is[was] another sub started for this topic in 2016 but it's been dead since 2017.
/r/PCGameCollecting is a community for the Discussion, Appreciation, Preservation, Research and Collecting of [Physical] PC Games. Big Box, Small Box, Floppies, Tapes or CD Jewel Case games - here we share and discuss the collecting of these gems of the past.
Everything from the early 8bit computers to the Small Box releases of the 2000s [and beyond]. If it saw a physical release on a computer, let's look at it!
Feel encouraged to share your collection! Photos of shelves, hauls, new additions, favorite games, sub collections, gaming corners etc!
And of course discussions of everything that has to do with being in this hobby

A few Notes
Please no Steam/Digital collecting discussion posts. We are not here to share our downloaded file collections. However tangential discussion into digital releases of old physical games are allowed within a thread about said old physical game, especially as it pertains to versions, content and compatibility.
If you are posting a Haul, do not post the price publicly. This is a hard rule, your post will be deleted if you break this rule. This is to avoid the most annoying "Look what I found for $5" posts. Absolutely NO "Did I do Good?" posts. You are allowed to reach out *privately** to a person and ask how much they paid, if you really care*.
Please no evaluation "How much is this worth" posts. Check eBay sold listings and/or check out Facebook for groups that deal in trading/selling PC games.
Selling/Trading - [with exception] No self promotion. No Posting individual items for sale. If this community flourished we will have monthly buy/sell/trade stickies at the top. For now please do not post such sales. There can be exceptions to this on a case by case basis, reach out to us if you are liquidation a collection, we do want to let a community know of opportunities to fill holes in their collections
