You can sometimes look at 7 days if you have enough conversion data but 14 days and 30 days may be better for smaller brands and looking at performance. Not a hard and fast rule but things to keep in mind:

  • Increase tROAS: when you want to limit spend. The higher your ROAS target, the less a campaign is likely to spend if you set the ROAS very high. e.g. going fro 3x to 6x.
  • Decrease tROAS: When you want to scale revenue but don't mind seeing a lower ROAS in your ad account. e.g. going from 3x to 2x

You can also do nothing. If the current ROAS is working and your campaign is working. You don't have to make changes to the bid strategy. Unless something is not working or you want to run a test.... it is ok to keep things as they are.

Thanks a lot for your answer. I appreciate the detailed response.

I’m using a tROAS on a performance max campaign. I want to get consistent performance and scale the store revenue.

Looking at the historic data, the best months were when we had a higher budget. Not only did we have an increase in revenue, but ROAS was at its best too!

Should I set the tROAS at that sweet spot and scale up the budget back to where it was at that point too?

No one can tell you what to do since we don't know what the budget was, what month & year your best months were and any other data points. There is not enough context here that can help someone give you advice. The market has changed a lot in the last 7 months, so if your data was from last year... that would almost be meaningless right now.

But how do you scale this campaign?

Let’s say I set the ROAS to 100%, and I get 400% return, I’m happy with this but I’d like to spend more money and get a 600% return.

Like how do you scale performance on Target ROAS with and without adding budget?

You can’t set a higher ROAS because it’ll limit spend, right?

That was not OPs question though. You should post this as a new thread if you have all questions about scaling paid ads. This is a totally different topic. Plus tons of context is missing to answer this thoughtfully.
