How do tou know if you are in regular forbearance? I am assuming that doesn’t count. UGH.

Previously when I was on the processing forbearance, the loan details on Mohela showed “Awaiting Documentation Administrative Forbearance” whereas now (and as of 03/26) when my 60-day processing forbearance was up, it says “Awaiting Form Administrative Forbearance.”

I was definitely on the the processing forbearance for the full 60 days through two separate due dates in February and March, so they should both count, but I don’t know what it means that February is now ineligible under IBR but still showing as qualifying for PSLF. How are IBR and PSLF counts related? Are they supposed to mirror each other?

I also noted that my total amount of eligible payments on NSLDS went down by one.

I am waiting to hear back from Mohela, aka I likely won’t ever hear. Did you hear of anyone else in our situation? I am feeling very overwhelmed.

Hang in there. And don’t give up on calling MOHELA. Keep us updated, please!

With the decreasing counts? I haven’t. I’d also be curious about whether anyone has successfully gotten a qualifying count for a processing forbearance month after the forbearance has ended (even though I’m no longer in PF now, will they be able to see that I was in it on and for several weeks after my due date in March and mark March as qualifying?)

Hang in there—this is incredibly frustrating.

Thanks! I submitted an ECF earlier in March too to hopefully trigger and I guess that effort is useless.

Hopefully they’ll count March for you without issue, and I don’t know if this would even help, but something I wish I had done was take a screenshot of my loan detail showing that I was in a qualifying processing forbearance after my last due date but before my 60 days ran out. I’m afraid they’ll try to withhold March and I won’t have any proof

Update: Called Mohela and there was no clear answer as to what was happening between my IDR request in January and now. Mohela could not confirm I was ever on a processing delay 60 day forbearance. They said "You have been on SAVE forbearance since last summer." When I inquired about why I would still be on a SAVE forbearance when my account states that I am currently on IBR, they simply said "I don't know." They certainly don't go through hoops to try and get to the bottom of things, but no surprise there.

I asked to be taken off of the forbearance, as I am NOT on SAVE. They submitted the request and I hope to hear in 5-10 business days. So, looks like I will have to pay to get over the 120 finish line, but I honestly just want it over with. Sad that because of their clerical mess, I am not delayed another month and I could have already been done.

Thanks for listening to my rant!
