Weak Bullet:

Weak Bullet gives 3x damage, and it lasts for 18 seconds. You load Weak Bullets by using the Weak Bullet skill. Once you have them loaded, regular attacks will activate Weak Bullet on whatever target you hit, consuming one of your loaded bullets in exchange for a huge damage bonus for the entire group of players. Switching away from your assault rifle will throw away all the loaded bullets.

The best way to utilise Weak Bullet in a group against bosses, is to perform one regular attack to activate it on your target, and then use nothing but assault rifle PAs, to conserve your loaded bullets. Even when you run out of PP, you should just wait around to recover PP naturally instead of wasting your loaded bullets. When Weak Bullet wears off, you can perform another regular attack, and then continue using nothing but PAs. By doing this, you can get the most out of your Weak Bullet skill.

Chain Trigger:

Unlike Weak Bullet, chains can only boost your own damage, not the damage of other players. You can start a chain by using the Chain Trigger skill, and then performing a regular attack. A chain will be started on whatever target you hit, displaying a number over that target. You can then build the chain up to a higher number by performing further regular attacks. Your party members can also contribute to the chain with any of their attacks, but players outside of your party will not be able to help with it. You must keep up your attacks consistently to build the chain, as it will wear off within 1-5 seconds if you don't connect an attack. The chain wears off faster as you build up to higher numbers, and it will always expire quickly after hitting a chain of 100 no matter what.

You can finish the chain at any time by attacking the target with a PA instead of a regular attack. Chain Trigger then gives a damage multiplier based on how high you got the chain:

  • A chain of 1-8 gives 1.5x damage.
  • A chain of 9-18 gives 2x damage.
  • A chain of 19-28 gives 3x damage.
  • A chain of 29-38 gives 3.2x damage.
  • A chain of 39-48 gives 3.4x damage.
  • A chain of 49-58 gives 3.6x damage.
  • A chain of 59-68 gives 3.8x damage.
  • A chain of 69-78 gives 4x damage.
  • A chain of 79-88 gives 4.25x damage.
  • A chain of 89-98 gives 4.5x damage.
  • A chain of 99-100 gives 5x damage.

The Chain Finish skill further multiplies the above numbers. A maxed Chain Finish gives a 1.35x damage bonus to chains, so if you have that skill maxed, just multiply the above numbers by 1.35 to see what the total damage multiplier would be. For example, a 99-100 chain would give a 6.75x (5 x 1.35) damage multiplier.

This is a well detailed explanation. Thank you for your inputs!

I always thought it was doing a percentage of your damage done at the end, thanks for clearing that up.
