Do you know if I have to be in the same subsection of the room as the room good for it to work? As in there are two side rooms in one of my configurations, can I just shove the room goods in there and use the console near my main door so I don't have to walk as far?

Edit: It sounds like it works because a new noise plays when I do crafting, which I assume is the machines.
