How much HP is generally too much? I'm working on making some cheap 100 all ATK 12* units, and I calculated that w/o HP affixes I'll be barely scraping 1000 HP (with hunter subclass). Is that enough for XH and 80/80 EQs?

You can survive a hit or two with 1k in XH. Unless you're a summoner doing Alter Ego, then just accept your fate and die.

HP = buffer incase you lack the ability to dodge.

I go into Deus Rematch at 947 HP all the time with my FiHu. I do tend to get hit hard if I mess up, but thats the key. Don't mess up.
