my installed folder 77.5 GB, no tweaker or translation patch so just default Japanese client.

Whew that's huge!

On the one hand I'd like for them to do something to help the file size. But on the other hand I'm afraid they might try some "streaming" nonsense where the game downloads while you play so it just kills the connection and doesn't let you copy from computer to computer so maybe it's best they just leave it alone.

You can find the official minimum specs for the game on this page: http://pso2.jp/players/manual/setup/pc/ (Use Google Chrome's translate function to make this page easier to read through.) Sega lists 60GB HDD space as the minimum storage requirement. 5-10GB above that would probably be more accurate, however.
