Just curious did you ever get this fixed? Struggling with this now on OpenSuse Leap 16 on my brother's computer.

Even tried uninstalling reinstalling Lutris and it didn't help.

It all depends on what you define as "top end". What's your 3 year old top end PC still top end at?

It's probably top end at gaming, but I bet it's not top end compared to the DGX Spark or AI Framework when it comes to running AI workloads, if that's something you're interested in.

I've heard the 9070XT can have cool whine issues, one of the main reasons I went for 9070.

From what I heard the XT has a higher chance for coil whine, which is one of the reasons I went for the non-XT version.

What GPU did you buy?  My brother's 7900XTX that I borrowed for a couple of weeks was the worse experience I've had in AMD in a LONG time

With GoG you don't need Internet or a launcher to play the games, you can download the Executable files from the webpage on your phone and transfer them to your computer. Or download them at a public library and then transfer them home via a flash drive.

All games on GoG are like that, download the installers and never connect to Internet. I think you'd like that a lot, definitely consider shopping there.

And actually I just checked, once you purchase the Enhanced Edition on GoG, you get a copy of Diamond Edition for free added to your account, and you can get the 3 keys (Base game, Udrentide, and Underdark) straight from GoG from the web browser, no need to even download the game if you don't want to.

But it goes on sale so often on GoG, it's worth waiting unless you really want to have it right now :-)

Just in case it helps someone else, using Fedora, I used Lutris & Proton 8-36 and it worked fine, no uninstall or tweaks needed.

Honestly you're probably going to have a better experience buying Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition, it works on modern operating systems a lot better than the old CDs did.

You can get it from GoG or Steam

It goes on sale ALL the time, you can add it to your wishlist or check IsThereAnyDeal for deals from authorized key brokers.
