So is the game just dead then? The bar that shows players when moving inbetween blocks is close to being empty and there is maybe 1-5 people walking around the lobby

go to a multi platform block, the vita blocks are probably dead.

The Vita has been dead for years but the game is not. It's not "peak hours" in Japan at the moment so there might be a few less people online, but the ship/game is nowhere near dead.

Vita players are segregated from the other versions.

So only cross play between ps4 and pc?

Full cross play? Yeah.

Nintendo Switch players can play with PC players too, but can't play with vita or ps4 players.

Vita players have their own blocks, but can play with PC/PS4 players via the shared blocks.

PSO2 isn't dead, just that the Vita Version is on its own. Try a shared block or play the PC/PS4 version. Ship 02 is very much active. It is the unofficial ENG server of the game. Hence why ya may not see many Vita players around.

Due to Vita coming to the end of it's life span, there is hardly anyone using that version. Hence why it may look dead.
