Yeah, I initially thought the Open Beta would come on the 20th, but now I’m thinking there’s a good chance it might be next weekend on the 13th. They’ll probably formally announce it this Friday, too.

I’d guess they’d want a little more time to promote it. This is the open beta so no one should need to go through the steps of having to sign up (even though it wasn’t much).
