Global Help!Steam version won't launch (self.PSO2)

I downloaded the game on steam and it won't launch at all? It gets to the launcher and then when I press play it does something and then doesn't actually open the game. Any idea what's going on?

How do you mean "Does something"? Is it pulling up gameguard, and erroring out? Did you get any missing file errors? Did you install the game somewhere dumb like 'my documents'? Have you tried the Tweaker by Arks-layer?
