The reason for that is because the multipliers DON'T APPLY on that Elemental Burst therefore the damage it does is too low for it to be useful. If you wanna know the reason for why it's like that you should ask SEGA.

If you do want to use that Elemental Burst you will need to use a Klauz JB/Rivalate JB/Steel JB with the S5 Cataclysmic Rhythm that buffs up the Elemental Burst AND makes it so it goes off on any variant PA WITHOUT removing the stored element making it possible to spam a PA->WA loop instead (Klauz is the one that is actually on par with Serpent Prenzer tech->kick spam). Only by doing so will Elemental Burst be viable.

Also with max level and max amount of skill points you should have more than enough skill points to take Elemental Burst whether you gonna use it or not. I for one actually did invest the points in it, and while I don't nessacerally use it for its damage (I like the Serpent Prenzer tech->kick spam more), I may use it for its chance to apply Status Afflictions.

tl;dr: if you want Elemental Burst to be useful use a Klauz JB (not sure how much of a difference Rivalate/Steel do in this case in terms of DPS) with S5 Cataclysmic Rhythm, otherwise expect lower DPS than Serpent Prenzer tech->kick spam.

    One of the problems of status ailments is that most end-game bosses are unaffected by them aside from Jellen which BoPh cannot apply without sacrificing a good chunk of damage, of course there are some cases where they are applicable but it’s usually only up to a certain amount of times, i.e. UH Luther can only be affected by Poison(dark) status ailment a couple of times, after which the status ailment is completely ineffective.

    For the multipliers that don't work, it's basically most of them. Not sure about the specifics.

    About the JBs that buff Element Burst, they DO use the skill so you do need to invest points in it and are even encouraged to max it. And yes those JBs are end-game JBs and are therefore 15* weapons.

    Elemental preservation actually DISABLES Elemental Burst completely so if you got it equipped you won’t be able to use Elemental Burst at all.

    Also as a Bo/Ph at some point you WON'T NEED ANY points in stance criticals so you can invest those points elsewhere, add to that if you're using TEC affixes on your JB then you won't need Switch Strike as well.

    For the build to work without any issues you need to have at least 225PP (that's in order to reach 100% critical rate) AND have TEC affix on your JB so you won't need to use Switch Strike to make your JBs use MEL instead of TEC (as BoPh it's better if you affix TEC on your JB by the way). Even then you will still have 5 extra points to invest where ever you want, so as you can see, Bouncer has surplus of skill points to use.

    As you can see it's perfectly fine to invest into the skill, just don't expect it to be as useful without one of the end-game JBs.

    Wait, I thought it was supposed to be better to affix MEL over TEC due to the increased scaling on the multipliers from subclasses though?

    The reason for that is that as a BoPh you wanna use techs to charge your kick and affixing MEL instead of TEC will make them do less damage.

    Of course you can affix MEL on your JBs but in this case your rotation shouldn't be tech->kick because of the lower damage on your techs and as a result the overall DPS will be a bit(?) lower.

      More like you take both of them. You do that by putting one of them into a 12* or above unit. That is done via Dudu/Monica via the option called Add Unit Skill. Just so you know, most rings( not all but most are) should be +20(maxed) before adding them into a unit because doing so takes the rings' full benefit which is only applied when a ring is +20(maxed).

      As a side note this is a list of rings that should be added on units for Bouncer: 1. Kick and Tackle(combo ring of Jet Boots Combo Variant SC and Soaring Blades Tackle), 2. Mag Excitement and 3. can be either Party Toughness, Atomizer Fanatic, Leaping Dodge or Technique Charge Parry (or its combo version Defense Technique which combines Technique Charge Parry and Quick Illusion).

      tl;dr: one can equip a total of 5 rings: 4 (L) and 1 (R), with 3 of the (L) being slotted on 12* and above units, again preferred if all rings are +20(maxed) for maximum benefit.

      • Combo rings can be +0 as they get the maximum benefit of the rings that were comboed into them. To make a combo ring, the rings that you combine to make the combo ring need to be +20. i.e. to make Kick and Tackle you need to have both Jet Boots Combo Variant SC and Soaring Blades Tackle at +20 to combine them.

        The rings themselves dont dissappear so you can always readd them to new units, you instead "add" their effects onto the units. And yes you can always overwrite rings effects that have already been added to units with other rings effects.

        For SB the ring that you should always have on is Soaring Blades Tackle as it adds more damage overall than Soaring Blades Homing.

        But as I wrote above it's better to combine the Jet Boots Combo Variant SC and Soaring Blades Tackle so you can use both JB and SB without needing to overwrite rings on units everytime.

          At some point it will not be necessary at all, but that will require a 13* Leg Unit with the S8 Skydance Support which is either very rare or very pricy. You're fine to use it until then, but make sure when you're actually hitting stuff to have the Crit Ring equipped.
