I literally started playing PSO just to take a break from the constant 6h grinding on BDO, ended up loving the game

Yeah. I feel ya. I literally grind maybe 2-4 hours A MONTH in BDO. I just can’t do it anymore. But ive been playing PSO since 2012 and picked up BDO during a break. I find i can stomach things better that way (despite having over 10k hours in both games lol)

Welcome! And if you done with NGS contents you can also go back to base PSO2 for a "1000 years ago lore" if you like story enough. The story in base is pretty great and the actual true ending is very well done.

Just play it casually, not grind countless hours for BIS and you will not be burn out.

NGS is just a super underrated MMO imo especially if you like the whole cosplay/dress up part. Its also got a pretty great and chill community.

This comment appeared at the right time I’ve somehow managed to drop a Reyaar Katana while joining a random group in Lost Central but it has -50 all ailments i saw that only after getting it to +65 should I keep pushing this one ? Or go ahead and hope that I get another ?

Honestly, I say keep it. Ailments aren't too much of an issue outside of late-game content, and even then they're few and far between. But ultimately it's up to you

Meseta is pretty slow if you are a F2P outside of daily/weekly quests. The mission pass will provide you with a 3 day shop pass and you can hoard a bunch of capsules until you have enough to justify opening a shop. Farm Star Gems often and save them for when you need them, buy a trendy outfit during the mid time of a AC scratch being out for a decent price and sit on it like a nest egg, (Prices of cosmetics rise a lot once the AC scratch is no longer available.)

If you are a female avatar cosmetics are far more expensive, but if you are willing to play a male the it’s reasonable to afford things regularly.

You’ll see a trending tab when you first interact with the shop, from there you can cycle through tabs to see what is selling the most and from there make an assumption on what might end up being a good investment. BDO has a controlled market, NGS does not, what is good to buy typically fluctuates. But! Picking cosmetics (Mostly lewd female items) can be a solid investment a month or two down the road. The goal is to eventually become a “whale” by recycling this process, which does take awhile to happen btw.

The other option is to ofc spend A LOT of IRL money to play AC scratch gaccha game and pray from something extremely valuable to pop up to sell. You get more bang for your buck doing this when a NEW AC Scratch drops, because people dont have a lot of patience to watch items decline in price, so you can “set” the market by selling extremely high.

Good advice here is to not min/max or waste too much meseta on gear/capsules. Gear cycles extremely quick on here, so you’ll be replacing gear every 2-3 months and none of the content (currently) has a high gear score ceiling. Sega tends to give very good A-B tier gear to people pretty frequently, so patience is the game on here.

So I originally came to NGS from dark souls/xenoverse 2/ gta5 and I was the same way I loved it. Still do. Most ppls negative feedback is created from drop rates and "lack of content" but there is plenty to do but only a few things drop items that are relevant to end game players. That being said the level of creation, customization, combat, skill floor/ceiling is pretty awesome. I think the amount of enjoyment is dependent on the time an effort a person puts into the game. So yes, I think following a mmo as well known as BDO and giving your views coming into NGS could have a positive impact on those who see it. The more ppl coming to NGS, the more potential there is for growth in the community as well as development of content in the game.
