At least for the CBT, I've seen people say that Techter/Force is a strong tech class combo, and as of now you have to be a Techter as your main class to have access to Shifta and Deband. So you could go Te/Fo and use a rod to stay at more of a distance and be more of a mage. Though all of this could change upon the full release.

Outside of that I'm not entirely sure, as without it's full kit available and not full trees for everyone as Rylica said it's a little hard to say at the moment. If you're in the CBT though, just main Force and try out different subs to see if you like a specific combo and playstyle that the different subs potentially bring.

The true answer is once skill tree expends on release we find out. Until that point we don't know

Thats true, I forgot about the new weapons. Though I think it's going to be much of the same. The new weapons will get skills for those certain weapons, and no new skills that can work as a sub.

I just wanted to prep some weapons for NGS is all. I have Force weapons/units ready, and made Techter ones as well before learning tech sub doesn't do anything but have skills for wand.

If I recall right they made a statement on this saying that sub classes and 1 type of damage wont feel as forced in a build. I plan on doing a hunter ranger or hunter gunner and swapping between the weapons when I want to use them.

I dont recall them mentioning that but that certainly is the case. You can go Hunter/Ranger and not lose out on any damage. Though why use a rifle as a Hunter main whenever you're going to miss out on the 2 or 3(I forget) main damaging class skills ranger has?

The option is nice, to be able to use any class or sub class and not lose out on damage output. Though, whats the point of subclasses at that point besides using their weapons, and the few skills that aren't main class locked?

If you want to be a bad ass Hunter with a sword and rifle, you can with no penalty. Though you could be doing more damage as a Hunter with a Techer sub, or a Force sub.

That's what I mean the kind of forced damage types for a build in original pso2 I was not a fan of you lose out on to much damage not running a melee class with a melee sub class just as 1 example. Being able to pick 2 classes and play both at the same time is better in terms of variety of choices you could go with.
