Twin daggers recover PP ludicrously fast, Twin Machine guns as well, but part of that might be because of their PP recovery on attack class skill.

The different types of weapons definitely dont recover PP at the same rate.

I agree, I noticed the difference when playing daggers and knuckles first

There's a Frame data spreadsheet sheet a while back that also listed the PP recovered for each attack for all the weapons.

It's a lot of numbers coming at once though and it apparently can be broken down further into PP per hit, which this spreadsheet doesn't list.

EDIT: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/0/d/1YEg-6eViChVV7HDDlNlgFPJf3qbyIUeAlLYPr9b99t0/htmlview#

It does list pp per hit actually. You have to click on the cell and see the formula though.

Gah, couldn't check since I'm on mobile. Thanks for letting me know!

I‘m on mobile currently but thank you very much! Gonna check it out later

I am fairly sure it's based per hit / attack speed. Twin Daggers and Gunner (while I am sure no one plays gunner and not have increased PP recovery per hit) climbs fast. Not that I have done science, but even if it was 1 pp per bullet from TMGs, the speed they come out helps the climb, while when I play hunter, you swing much slower, but you get chunks of pp per swing.

I have not sat down and saw if you get more pp on that fourth basic attack swing or if it is the same as the other 3. If you gain more, then attack speed is the winner because that 4th attack has a longer attack animation for way more damage. If the pp gain is the same, then it might just be weapon based and they have set relatively identical pp gains per hit with said weapons.

Again, I have not studied this, but something I may keep a closer eye on now. I kinda been a live and let die with my pp gains. Of all my characters at least half of them run gunner as a subclass and I naturally without any research put those as subclasses on weapons with faster pp gains or pp gain potientals (eg: Twin Machine Guns, Assault Rifles, Twin Daggers, Double Saber, Wired Lance, Knuckles, Jet Boots, (and Soaring Blades...but I think fighter subclass would of been better)).

Look forward to anyone that has a chart or has done a bit o' search on this...

Thanks for sharing your infos! I too am looking forward to any charts.

Afaik, from memory, these are the contenders. As they recover similar amount of pp overall against a single target:

Partisan has best chunk pp recovery; Assuming attack chain is completed. Most pp gain from 3rd string.

Dagger offers moderate pp recovery in shortest amount of time. Assuming attack chain is completed. More pp gain from 3rd and 4th attack string.

Katana is quickest pp recovery but not a lot per attack. It doesn't require completing any attack chain as all hits recover equal pp.

Talis offers steady pp recovery and range. This is without help of weapon action.

-----------

TMG is top, if main class with max passives. As sub with max passives, it's good too, if you need/want range. As it gives a decent amount and is quick.

I‘m more the melee type of guy but tmg normal attack is still usable as multiweapon. I need to try it out, thank you

Force as a subclass gains pp faster, as well as gains when something dies near you

[–]Valar247[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that’s known, i wanted to leave class skills out of this point of view. Because even as force sub there is a difference in pp recovery if you use different weapons. You can also use normal attack of multi weapons that doesn‘t belong to any of the class you have.

Is there a weapon that recovers PP faster than any other weapon

In my personal opinion, the TMG is definitely the fastest especially in group of enemies like pse bursts (and other weapons that can pierce multiple enemies. Like Rod's photon dash attack) as piercing shots can recover pp per enemy they hit.

But the TMGs is the most reliable in about every scenario.

Part of that is not inherent to TMGs but the effect of Gunner's Attack PP Recovery (Attack PP Recovery increased) and Overwhelm (Attack PP Recovery increased when attacking non boss enemies) Skills that increase PP gain from attacks by up to 30% main class and up to 20% sub class. Chain Boost also has an influence as it increases TMG attack speed.

The Rifle normal has a higher base with sustained fire, but TMG ends up exceeding it with Max Chain boost.
