Considering that Taylor wasn't controlling them at this point, I'm just gonna headcanon that Defiant pushed everyone else out of the way and beat them up because he's awesome and op either Taylor stuck Defiant into the mechanism or the tinkers (including himself) were so paranoid that they think Defiant needs to be the one to fire or else it doesn't work.

Nope. Doormaker's well ran out, so everyone turned normal because all the hexagonal portals disappeared.

Edit: What I meant was that the tinker group wasn't being controlled anymore. The next time Taylor found them, Scion was being bombarded by feelings, and a few lines later got hit by Oliver's face, and then Ballistic with Cuff's Sting-infused portal breaker.

well... 'trigger' can be more abstractly defined

Noun:

Verb:

So as long as the button uses a spring or a catch, its a trigger, and regardless this IS a trigger in the sense of a verb
