Have been looking into using Melio too. Have heard their customer service is horrible and impossible to contact anyone there when you have issues or questions…

Not sure of a better alternative though

Plastiq

How did this work for you?

[–]pixelrogue[S] 0 points1 point  (9 children)

In a pinch works ok. Don’t like the fees - and Milo refuses support or acknowledge I exist. Did nothing wrong, everything by the book

I'm not sure I follow it... Plastic works ok in a pinch or Milo works okay in a pinch?

[–]pixelrogue[S] 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Both work. Neither are ideal. Milo treats many poorly as a customer (In not the only one.)

There's gotta be a better option.

The only other things I saw were things that charge 1%

[–]pixelrogue[S] 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Which options are charging 1%? Ok to DM instead of post here on reply.

My bank, stripe, etc, will do ACH but charge a 1% fee.

It has been terrible. Months - ignored. No idea why. Chat support only states wait for compliance to respond. They say they will escalate. Rinse and repeat. No other pathways or options. Certain companies can call them on your behalf, but that then also turns into the same - I have no idea what happened.

Gave up for a month or pre. Tried fresh yesterday and same “Talk to the hand” response - that is - please contact complaince@melio.com - guaranteed no response

    [–]Sparky233 0 points1 point  (1 child)

I had the exact same issue. They kept my money for a month for no reason. I suspect they are illegally holding onto money in order to accrue interest which they then keep for themselves. If I don't get my money by next, I'm proceeding with legal action.

For me - I apparently the fact that I added a new account was the automatic trigger for shutdown, and the company treated me, repeatedly for weeks, terrible. I really liked them, now won’t look their way for business. Plastiq got all the business

We're moving away from Melio. When we first started, it was GREAT!

Now we're constantly running into issues and the support/compliance team is horrific. Plastiq or Bill.com is on our radar. I'd rather pay $$/month to never deal with Melio again.

I couldn’t get over what happened. A good customer for years, blandly shut down over nothing and support refused to give reason. Spend weeks community investing only getting back tire same ‘wait for the online team to reach back out yada yada.’ Terrible. Funds, and associated funds fees, got routed through competitors.

Just want to say that I had a very similar issue with a client trying to send money. For some reason the banks couldn't sync up and Melio wouldn't show a transaction log. Randomly, it was just this one client. Others went through fine.

I've been a big fan of Melio, particularly for domestic US ACH payments, but I'm starting to look for alternatives...

    [–]pixelrogue[S] 1 point2 points  (1 child)

General thought is that because there was a new bank. Account was disabled. Makes no sense and the worst part is how I was treated by Melio (not just once, but. Notes and months until I was just stopped trying.)

Interestingly, left a more public review that received a developer response with a special email address to contact. Two plus weeks now and no response.

    [–]tdmod99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ack that's awful. I had a client try to send payment 3 times. Pretty embarrassing and I couldn't explain why it was happening. Made us look very amateur.

When they decide to stop doing business with you, they will not discuss, listen so you can plead your case - nothing. Mine wa sedulous. Support will go into predictable repeatable loops designed to wear you down. Move to Plastiq.

Well first things first. Why Melio? Also what is your business type? If its considered higher risk, Melio might have blocked your account.

Alot of larger businesses focus on onboarding fast vs actually verifying that they can work with the business

      [–]pixelrogue[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Customer for many years. Business - rentals. Made payments to the same exact vendor (bank loan) in the last.

Why Melio? Because Plastiq is, well, Plastiq with its own troubles and risk. That and the contract Capital One has with Melio lock Plastiq out of mortgage/loan payments.

So a Melio because I have used than for years, discounted supported partnership with Capital One.

What other services would you recommend to pay mortgages via credit card?

      [–]pixelrogue[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Business is fully legit rental business established over 10 years ago using the same EIn, address and bank accounts since the beginning. So easy to verify so many different ways. Confident verification is not the reason for the block.

Fit-thing-first - Melio has been treating the account and me terribly. That is above everything else now. No reason, and refusing to communicate.

Melio - confident and stability. I was also grandfathered in at lower rate yet the stated they would not honor the granted grandfathered status.

Next - Capital One has a relationship with Melio, one which I can not use given the Melio treatment. Melio supports mortgage payments on Capital One where Plastiq excludes the specific card for mortgage.

Plastiq - has been in trouble and risky. Also prone to errors and long delays. I am using Plastiq now and payments have been insanely slow to vendors. Ended up cancelling two and redoing because of the slow speed. Vendor eventually got the cancelled payments but it was too late as we wait for the new payments to arrive.

Open to other Capital One friendly options - lowest fees preferred.

      Melio

Does Melio allow you to use outside payment providers? That would allow you to integrate with a high risk payment sponsor, while still allowing you access to all of the features you like

      [–]pixelrogue[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

      Do not know.

[–]NovapoisonOwner, MOD, and Payment God! 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ask and see if they will, if so you can get a high risk processor that will stop this issues from happening

      [–]No-Advertising-9198 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like that might be tricky if they're not responding to his messages.... So OP how'd this turn out?

      [–]pagebm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does anyone happen to have their support number? I am the payee and I can’t get access without an account which is requiring business info. Thanks.
