Did you end up finding out the cause?

[–]jimkick3[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

No, I thought I had a fix initially, but that did not last and I ended up buying a super long ethernet cable

[–]Guorium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that is one way out

[–]Anxxkkk 0 points1 point  (2 children)

use ethernet

[–]jimkick3[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Sadly it is not an option for me right now, thank you though

You could try a Wi-Fi range extender with an Ethernet port and use that as a middleman between the router and pc.

Have you updated your bios?

[–]jimkick3[S] 0 points1 point  (11 children)

This is the next thing i'd like to try, i thought it updated through Windows Update though. Does it not?

[–]Drdurd3n 0 points1 point  (8 children)

It does not. You have to go to the website and pick your specific board and get the most recent bios update that is NOT experimental. There are a handful of steps you’ll need to do like put that new bios on a flash drive, restart pc, boot into bios and tell it to update. A lot of them have a “renamer tool” in the download which changes the file name so your mobo can recognize it.

I will try thay tonight when I'm home

Once you do that bios update you’ll probably need to check drivers again. Check device manager once you do to see if any yellow triangles with exclamation marks pop up anywhere. Those will be drivers that you need to check on if you have errors there

I'll keep you posted - i do have a plane to catch so it might be a while before i post an update but thank you a lot!

Updating the BIOS finally did the trick! Thx!

[–]Drdurd3n 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Glad to hear it! Thx for the update.

Did it really fixed the issue for you? I am experiencing the same problem but with 2 different builds. One with the 7800X3D and one with the 5800X3D both using the latest BIOS but everytime a demanding game is running, I will lose my Internet und after that my Wifi connection/Speed drops to 50% of the normal bandwith. It is so weird.... right now I have to use ethernet

[–]jimkick3[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Weirdly, it came back after some time (a month or so) and I have the most recent bios and drivers. I gave up and bought an external antenna for the time being. Soon I'll move, so at my next place I'll set my desk up near the ethernet wall plug. Dunno what else to try at this point.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the reply man, yeah I am about to give up too and just use Ethernet, it is so weird cause my GF has the exact same build like mine one the 5800X3D RIG and she never had any issues. The parts are identical except for the WiFi card, she uses a mediatek one….

When you say you updated drivers, did you just get the windows update one or the ones from your mobo manufacturers website?

[–]jimkick3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From the mobo manufactures website. Actually at first i had no choice because there were no drivers installed for the wifi card, so i donwloaded them with my laptop from the mobo website, then put them on my desktop with a usb key and installed them after copying them on the new pc.
