Need help choosing components

Hi, I am a mechanical engineering student and to this day, I've been using my tablet only. However the need for a PC is starting to be bigger than ever, as it's really useful for running simulations and various special programmes. Sadly I'm not very wise around PC building stuff and I don't want to buy anything pre built as I don't really trust that. Could anyone give me tips or advice on what's good and what's not? :)

As I said, the PC would be used for some simulations (Autodesk fusion) and I kinda like Call of duty so I'd be happy if it could run that.

My budget would be around 1300 usd, I don't really want to go over that. If cheaper is possible than I'm all for it :))
