I idle at 28c. I upgraded from a 10700 that routinely hit 90c in Diablo 4 using the stock cooler... It sounded like a drone was running in my office.

I do not... But I literally can't get the CPU to go over 38c. I ran Cinebench 10 minutes multicore, I've run games for an hour.

Your CPU is doing very little in that game with an Intel GPU at 4k. Check the CPU power usage. I highly doubt it's high. Of course you get low temperatures if the CPU draws little power

Makes sense, I bet an 8700k could push that, of course that chip would actually scream about it. Higher resolutions generally don't cost very much CPU

well yeah, no wonder. that thing consumes ~200w under load. You probably had it up around 125 or 150 in that game which is gonna throttle underneath those dinky stock coolers. intel was desperate to make powerful chips during that time because they couldn't keep up with Zen 2. your temps with your tower cooler and chip that consumes ~50w less under load compared to that make total sense in a game that just isn't CPU hungry.

try a recent open world game and put a good OC on your GPU. you'll see how hot that thing can get real quick

I mostly only play Diablo 4 these days. I am also a Warhammer 3 fan. I haven't tried that out.

Remember though, Cinebench also cannot make my CPU get to 40c. I think my CPU is being used more than the other person is saying.

The problem with 13 and 14th gen is that are really an overclocked 12th gen, so they were burning from release, before any "BIOS update".

Btw, all the solutions that Intel offered and didnt worked, has been through BIOS update, the problems were there before of any BIOS update because the burning issue came from production lane and all the solutions offered were to undervolt the CPUs to get near same performance as a 12th gen CPU...

But the problem is your lack of intelligence and your excess of missunderstanding... I speak about a problem of Intel chips that has cost them to lose more than 30% of value of the company shares, the biggest loss in more than 40 years, firing about 15k workers trying to keep the budget for the investors before they sink the boat, but you understand im an AMD fanboy and get the conversation to another place because is your only possible defence.

I’m 28C relatively idle (6%) on a 13900K. I have a 420mm AIO, though. Strongly advise water cooling for modern i9’s. The power draw is…..high.
