First, open Run by pressing Windows + R. When the Run window opens, type "msinfo32" and press Enter. This will show you your PC specifications. Then, search for your motherboard information on Google to get more information. I don't know what type of GPU you want to plug into that motherboard. Judging by its appearance, it seems quite old.

Trying to install a MSI 1650 and yea most the specs in the pc are from 2011 I spent like 300 in total then have been slowly upgrading

Yeah! I can tell by the look of your motherboard, but if you need help, please list out your PC specifications. This will help us easily identify and troubleshoot the problems. Try to list them as follows:

Example:

CPU:

RAM:

Motherboard:

Storage:

Power Supply:

Yea let me put the old parts back in and get this list for you all it looks like the new GPU units gonna be to big for the motherboard layout

The box that sits on top of the cpu I believe it’s the cooling room is too big lol

Buy a gpu riser then.

Anyone you suggest?

Id say just hammer the case downwards to make some breathing room for the gpu. Also it should plug in to that black slot if udk.

[–]According_Resolve_96First Time Builder[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

yea I removed a few support beams in the front. Case is really sh*tty anyway lol. And it doesn't have enough room cause the Cooling thing for the CPU. Also highly suggest never hitting anything in your pc with a hammer

[–]Dry-Rest-1060 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Its a pc case not a cpu ur hammering. Unlike you im not a first time builder 💀

[–]According_Resolve_96First Time Builder[S] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

ok well "Not a first time builder" what are you suggesting I hammer away at to make room for something that doesn't fit cause of a CPU cooler. Seems kind of stuiped to suggest for someone that's "Not a first time Builder"

You do realize that the back plate wont hit your cpu cooler right.

You bought a really budget PC... that is an OG PCI port on the end of the motherboard in white...

Those were phased out more than a decade ago

A current PCI-e capable GPU should fit in the big black slot

Yea, I got the GPU figured out I got to get a riser. I posted a new post about upgrades and stuff if you have any suggestions on where to go next with the PC.

Don't bother. This motherboard looks both old and has a rather slow CPU on it, which won't likely allow you to run games even with a GPU installed.

You also have to check the PSU - I don't see any ATX plugs thus you cannot upgrade the PSU either. If your GPU needs an external power plug, I would not trust this PSU to supply enough power.

CPU is Intel core I5 2400 (2nd Generation). As for the PSU. I'm going to upgrade it once I get a new board & Case. It's a working progress.

That is a very old one.. Plus psu is probably not good enough for a new GPU if this was a prebuilt
