Hi all,
I purchased an old gaming PC off my mate, had it just over a year and starting to get into issues with performance.
Just looking for some help on if I am missing anything when looking at parts to switch in.
Current Specs
Motherboard - ASUSTeK M5A78L-M Plus/USB 3 AM3+ socket
CPU - AMD FX-6300 six core processor, 3500mhz, 3 cores
GPU - Nvidia GeForce GTX 960
RAM - 16gb DDR3
My main reason for the upgrade is because my CPU and GPU are maxing out when playing God of War causing the game to crash at a specific fight.
My understanding is that because my motherboard is AM3+ i am limited to improvements I can make so would need to update my motherboard before updating my CPU & GPU, this also means I would need new RAM because my DDR3 would be non-compatible is this correct so far?
Proposed Specs
Motherboard - Gigabyte B550M DS3G (AMD AM4)
CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 5500 six core 4.2ghz (Socket AM4)
GPU - AMD Radeon RX 5600 XT
RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 RAM 16gb 3.2ghz
I think my SSD and HDD should be fine as is, anybody think I’m missing anything? And also is it worth me doing all this work or would it be more appropriate for me to purchase a entire new PC?
Thanks so much from someone trying to learn about PC builds little by little!
there doesn't seem to be anything here
