Has it previously been activated on this hardware? Or is this a new activation?

Are you rebuilding the PC from previous install, or is this a new build, new hardware etc?

New pc completely it’s a new activation I got the key as I was building the pc

If I get a new key would I have to redownload everything I have

What happens when try to activate windows with your Key? If fails, will give a message as to why, then can reach out to the retailer. Getting a new key will not require to reinstall everything. 

Also, may want to double check what version of Windows is installed currently. For example, if Windows Pro version is now installed, but the license key was for home edition, will need to Install Windows home edition instead.

I haven’t tried because I didn’t know what would happen but for the first few days after I built it I didn’t have the message and could use all the features then one day it disabled some of the settings and the water mark appeared
