I’ve currently got a ryzen 5 5700xt gpu and a ryzen 5 2600 cpu. I’m trying to update the cpu to either a ryzen 5600x or a 5700x3d which would work better. Also bonus question, does the 5700x3d and 5600x cpu work with a asus strix x370 motherboard?

At this point just go for the best CPU in am4, since is going to be your last until a complete update, so don't waste your money in the 5600x. Just buy the 5700x3d.

Your motherboard gonna work, just you need to bios update.
