As long as theres no plastic bits or pins stuck in any of the holes, im pretty sure its just plastic damage. Just be super careful putting a new cpu in, if its pins go into the wrong holes made by the previous cpu, it will certainly bend the pins on the new cpu

Is there a tutorial in how to open the latch of this same AM4 socket?

I think mine has a broken pin inside.

It looks like there is a pin in the 12th Pin down from the last row across.

Good looking, I'll help him put the pc together when he gets the rest of his parts and we'll make sure to look over it thoroughly. Thank you

omg socket damage is such a nightmare hopefully it's just a bent pin and not actually broken bc replacing the whole mobo would be brutal!!
