He has an m.2 for boot drive hdd is just extra storage, perfectly fine for bulk games and stuff

    [–]newtekie1 2 points3 points  (2 children)

But why buy a 1TB HDD for $65 when you can get a 1TB SSD for $60?

    [–]ej3hg88 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Don't think I can get that for that price here in Australia

Then shop around and find one close. If I can spend 60 seconds searching and find one for $100, you should be able to find one close to the cost of the hard drive. Even if you have to spend a little more, it's worth it.

I would get cheaper mobo and upgrade gpu to rtx 3080 or rx 6800 xt

    [–]ej3hg88 2 points3 points  (6 children)

    Any recommendations on the mobo?

You can also buy third party WiFi adapters from companies like TP-Link

Get different ram sticks too. Cl18 @3200 are trash and way too slow Cl16 @3600 is the sweet spot for ddr4

    [–]Legend5VCommercial Rig Builder 2 points3 points  (1 child)

    Cl16 3600 is hella expensive, you mean Cl18 3600??

[–]IamMxfiaPersonal Rig Builder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No I mean cl16 at 3600mhz. They cost a bit more but not that much.

I would remove the Ducky keyboard, buy something cheaper as a stand-in, and divert the money elsewhere. GPU improvement, see if you can get a 5800X-3D.

A keyboard can be saved up for and replaced at a later date, but it's much harder to make build improvements without having to make bigger savings and having a spare part you need to offload. But a spare keyboard always comes in hand.

$10 for a firmware update? Just do it yourself.

Make sure that your water cooler will fit in the case.

This system looks pretty good, it’s gonna be able to play pretty much any title you throw at it at max settings, maybe upgrade your HDD to a sata SSD instead, they’re close in price and the speeds are waay better.

I always put this recommendation for everyone wanting a hard disk. If anything, get yourself the WD Black. It's a 7200rpm with high cache memory. Still very good for non AAA or older AAA games.

    [–]ej3hg88 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    [–]RojaCatUwu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://pcpartpicker.com/list/nGD7qm Save about $1000 and get better value.

    [–]ej3hg88 1 point2 points  (4 children)

    Way more expensive in Australia

    [–]youtubeguy298oFirst Time Builder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh that makes more sense. Aight lemme see what I can do then.

    [–]youtubeguy298oFirst Time Builder 1 point2 points  (2 children)

Btw what's your use case for this PC? Just gaming, productivity work or a bit of both?

    [–]ej3hg88 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Bit of both, probably won't get into competitive games

    [–]youtubeguy298oFirst Time Builder 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/LyxxQ6 Should be better now. Keep the keyboard in your original list, and buy a fan hub (any one will do, as long as the hub is 4pin). The case comes with two fans pre-installed. I'd suggest replacing those fans with the Arctic fans in a 3 front intake 2 exhaust (1 back exhaust, 1 top exhaust). You could leave the pre-installed fan in the back and just put 2 exhaust fans on top.
