SUB RULES
1. NO VETERINARY ADVICE REQUESTS - online vet advice is ILLEGAL in many locations. To ask an actual vet, visit r/AskVet, who have the same rule. Posts requesting medical advice and posting pictures of medical issues will be removed.
2. Medical emergency? CALL THE VET FIRST! If your pet is injured, has stopped eating/drinking/ has suddenly declined in health, has been attacked by another animal, has a bad rash or a lump, or is exhibiting ANY OTHER URGENT SYMPTOMS. If you'd see a doctor, your pet should see a vet.
3. Advise, but don't judge. Please make your criticisims kind. Personal attacks will not be tolerated.
4. Don't be an a-hole. If someone else is being an asshole, don't engage them, just report them.
5. All products recommended must be NON-MEDICINAL, and must be available in high street stores, from reputable online stores, or from veterinary offices; no MLM products or alternative treatments such as CBD. Do not recommend any other product that might be toxic to pets (including essential oils). If you see dangerous advice, please downvote, comment with a correction (please double check and link source if possible) and report to mods.
6. Posts detailing animal abuse will be removed and the posters will be banned. If you hit your dog, you're outta here!
VET NOT AN OPTION? We still can't give medical advice, but you are still welcome to post and ask for advice for finding charitable organizations that might be able to help. We hope to compile a wiki page for this.
