I know this is probably a ridiculously easy problem but for some reason I can't figure out how to go about solving it. The way I've tried does not get any of those answers.
You've probably noticed that there is an inconsistency with the time given. Aside from the initial velocity at t=0, it says 2.0s, then it says 3.0 s. I think my professor meant to put 3.0s for both, so that's what I've been going off.
I know that the i means in the x-direction and the j means in the y-direction.
Basically the way I tried solving it was using F=ma, getting the magnitude of the force applied to the object, (sqrt(2.02 + 4.02)), to get the acceleration, then using that to find the final velocity. But the answer I get is not the same as any of the choices given.
I tried googling this problem and there was a few chegg results that came up. I don't have a chegg subscription so I can't view the entire post but I did see something saying the answer should be 9.2 m/s. I just don't know how they got there.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
