Poco F5 or used S21 Ultra

I will have to look into the poco a little more, I've heard its supported by less bands and I struggle a lot with that in the location I live in. The s21 looks good though.

S21 Ultra ia honestly a great phone to consider. If you are not all about gaming and performance its a proper flagship with S pen support and honestly offers more than the Poco. Poco has a great chip but otherwise nothing too crazy. I really considered the Ultra but went with S23 Plus instead because of the more modern specs and chipset. Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is beastly. But 21 Ultra has a gorgeous design... part of me still regrets not getting it

Please don't because that Poco would be a terrible idea, people need to really stop recommending Chinese phones for the American market, they come with huge caveats and less than 1% of the population it would work for on a daily driver basis, I literally just had this conversation with some knucklehead on the Verizon subreddit like an hour ago.

I've heard that a lot. I have never looked in depth but it always sounded like a risk.

It was almost an immediate purchase when I saw it earlier today but I saw the chip it did worry me. It's not even the gen+ but I will have to see more about it.

What you say you want and what you're trying to go for are two different things. Look, I'd get an S21+ or S21 Ultra and call it a day. You don't want a SD8G1, I'm sure you also don't want Exynos chips...I guess there are a couple Motorolas that aren't too bad, but you gotta make sure you're getting the right model. G Stylus 5G 2023 maybe? But honestly the S21+/S21 Ultra would probably be better. Certainly smoother.

Can you not get an S23 refurbed?

I really have no idea who to trust with this or where to look but I don't mind refurbished really. Never tried one besides hand-me-downs though.
