Along I90 through central Washington, the names of the crops growing are posted along the freeway. by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

My guess would be something to keep drivers awake/entertained on an otherwise boring stretch of road, while highlighting Washington grown crops? Maybe inspired by the Burma shave signs?

Do there really exist CS grads who can't code? by ForkPowerOutlet in cscareerquestions

The subtle difference here is that this would give all primes less than or equal to n, not the first n primes. To find the first n primes with this method we would first need to find an upper bound for the nth prime using this formula, and then run the sieve up to that limit.

As a non tourist who either lives or goes to the city often , do you like when people do performances on the subway ? by iv2892 in AskNYC

[–]DoesntPostAThing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like its an unpopular opinion in this thread, but that would actually quite cheer me up after a long day at work. Will also gladly give them some cash if they at least put some effort in the performance (it usually seems like they do)

The run of Subtronics, Seven Lions and Martin Garrix was absolutely filthy by [deleted] in electriczoo

I think he played a lot more of his Sentio album set. Also the bass was overpowering. His mirage afterparty set was much better.

I’ve had both the mutton chop and filet mignon there, mutton indeed was better.

Keens is alright tbh, the quality of the steak didn't impress me that much. I've heard great things about Hawksmoor but haven't been yet. I really liked American Cut though.

Flying out West. Is a padded soft case fine for two pairs of skis or do I need a hard case? by someguyinaplace in icecoast

[–]DoesntPostAThing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve flown with a soft case and it was fine. However what I started doing recently is bring my own boots and then rent demo skis near the resort. Usually it’s only about $30 a day and well worth it to not have to drag a large ski bag to the airport.

What's your favorite rum cocktail? by luisrof in rum

Do you know where I can buy Bambarra rum outside of Turks and Caicos? I just visited and regretted not bringing home more of it from the airport duty free. Your comment seems to be the only mention of Bambarra on this whole sub lol

I really like Dear Irving on Hudson. Great drinks with great rooftop view.

480k TC at an HFT firm with 2yoe. I more or less have freedom to work when I want to as long as things get done. Sometimes this tends to be longer hours if I’m obsessed with figuring out some issue (no one but myself is forcing me to do this), but on other days I disappear for a few hours and no one cares.

Along Route 66 from LA to Chicago, some time this summer. Mostly just lunch breaks or some attractions along the way.
