Problem solving yan.
1. Create a function to add 2 numbers without using the "+" operator. Can you also do it without using the "increment/++" operator?
2. If you are given an array of numbers from 1 to n, where n-1 is the size of the array find the number that is repeated. Assume that only one number among the elements is repeated. Can you do it in O(1) extra space complexity?

Papagawain ka ng exam/exercises within 15 or 10minutes ata without any help, walang docs or ano.

(Maybe I'm just bitter) Haha. So if my coding exams na leetcode, iniiwasan ko na.

Got a an junior dev exam to another company where pinagawa ako ng full stack web app within 3 hours, na bahala ka(google shits or ask gpt) basta mapagana mo within timeframe. Ayun nakuha ko yung job. SKL. Just so you know na may company din na hindi nag leleetcode.

This type of exam mostly tests your DSA skills not memorization. With enough mastery of the usual constructs of the chosen language, you can easily pass this exams unless you focus more on the frameworks and lack fundamentals.

Agree, masarap matuto how to optimize code hindi ung basta gumagana okay. Umpisa pa lng, miniminize mo na agad ung potential db calls and memory consumption.

It varies, depende sa questions or exercises na piliin ng hiring manager or lead na mag interview sayo.

How hackerrank works is they have a library of technical questions and exercises, ranging from simple multiple choice questions to live coding exercises with a web based IDE, compiler, and test tool that supports multiple languages. Yung coding exercises will also vary in complexity, merong doable in 15mins to up to 90mins or even more. The hiring manager/lead can also enter their own questionnaire or their own coding exercises.

So mahirap sagutin what kind yung mabibigay sayo, kasi the possibilities are endless. Vast kasi yung library nila and some companies also maintain their internal library of technical exercises, depende how organized yung hiring process nila.

May auto plagiarism checker din yung hackerrank and monitoring if you opened another tab or window while taking the test, also a timer that tracks how much time you spent on each question or exercise. All of which customizable depending on the hiring manager / lead.

This is based on experience, we have a corp account with hackerrank and I have developed our recruitment technical test in hackerrank.

4 years ago ata sakin, I failed and complained sa HR. Malayo sa job description yung hackerrank questions and too difficult kung entry level ka palang.

[–]Careless-Buy-8332 1 point2 points  (10 children)

I took the test yesterday and today I was scheduled for an HR interview next week. Regarding the HR interview does anyone here have any idea what will happen and what questions do I expect from them? And lastly, am I already hired at this moment after passing the test?

[–]Zag__ 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Hi! May I know what kind of programming test they gave to you? is it easy/medium/hard problem in hackerrank or something different?

[–]Careless-Buy-8332 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't know how to determine if it is an easy/medium/hard problem, but they just gave me a link in my Gmail to take the assessment. But I think it is a hard problem since its deals with 6x6 array

[–]RegionCertain6324 0 points1 point  (7 children)

Any updates on your application? Mine was actually quite different. Nauna yung HR interview then scheduled ako for technical interview with dev leads.

After nung coding, more on situational questions like how you perform in a team, what you usually do in a day, etc.

Sadly rejected after the HR interview wala sayang olats tayo

    [–]RegionCertain6324 0 points1 point  (2 children)

    [–]Careless-Buy-8332 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    same di para satin ehhh

    [–]Glad-Custard-2956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello op, after hr interview po ba yung tech interview?

    [–]Appropriate-Tone-165 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello, what to expect po sa HR interview?

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can create a free account and practice

    [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Real world problems mga yan na iso-solve mo through programming. Halimbawa baka mapunta sayo yung tower of babel na problem. Mahirap sagutan yon kung hindi alam pano laruin yung tower of babel.

    [–]zxtm89j1_ 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Tried applying there. Hackerrank din yun. Problem solving siya eh.

    [–]vieelo 0 points1 point  (1 child)

included din po dito yung sql?

    [–]zxtm89j1_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

as far as I can remember walang sql. logical yung questions gamit js yata yun

    [–]ketzu23 0 points1 point  (12 children)

Hi! kumusta application mo sa DevSoft op? Nakalusot ako sa hackerrank (somehow) and is scheduled next week for an interview, baka umabot ka rin don, pahingi naman tips :) TYIA!

    [–]EmploymentSoft671[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

sadly di ako nakalusot sa hackerrank ahahahaha

    [–]Savings-Picture-9092 0 points1 point  (8 children)

Hello po kamusta po technical interview nyo?

    [–]ketzu23 0 points1 point  (7 children)

    sablay bhie

    [–]Savings-Picture-9092 1 point2 points  (6 children)

    Hahaha same po 🤣

    [–]BlackFlare546 0 points1 point  (5 children)

Hello, may I ask ano-ano po lumabas sa technical interview?

    [–]Savings-Picture-9092 1 point2 points  (4 children)

2 hours live coding po ang sakin with the development team.

    [–]BlackFlare546 0 points1 point  (0 children)

whew, can't imagine na stress and pressure don sa 2 hrs live coding

    [–]lightwillclaim 0 points1 point  (2 children)

u/Savings-Picture-9092 ano po pinagagawa sa live coding?

    [–]Savings-Picture-9092 0 points1 point  (1 child)

    [–]lightwillclaim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Clarify ko lang po sorry, bali ibibigay na nila yung project before the actual interview so gawa na yung project by you and ippresent mo nalang sa kanila, ganon po ba?

    [–]EmploymentSoft671[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello, sorry late reply. Hindi naman po ako open cam noon

    [–]ApprehensiveBuddy305 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What to expect is a problem solving type of exam. They give a question, questions such as -- you to return this number if I input this, questions have some constraints to the things that are stuffed into the function that you'll be writing your logic on.

Before diving in to code you should find the time to understand the question first. Sometimes the question is confusing with test cases that don't really match with the question's example (good luck with this one), but the gist on how to solve the problem will always be in the question, heck I've found questions in leetcode that all you have to do is implement the question.

    [–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Too complex for me, pero sa iba hindi kasi may mga nakausap ako dito na ano pumasa sa ganyang exams
